Segovia

When i planned this trip, there wasn't any big event that would happen in Spain but just after i bought the flight ticket, Intan informed me that on 20th would be an election day for Spain. Warghhh...'Cuak sehhh...'. But, Intan said that I shouldn't worry too much. And indeed, she was right..it was as if there was no election what so ever. 

Today, we're going to explore Segovia. Honestly, I've never heard about Segovia before this. So, when Intan suggested us to go there, i just agreed because she's the expert. 

At about 9am, Intan came and we're already on our way to Segovia.

First, we saw the Triumphal Arch in the Plaza de la Moncloa.

Then, we're heading to Intan's apartment first because she has to send her hubby's phone and jacket.

And..what a nice ambiance of this 'village'. Yes..village, that's what they call their Taman, here in Madrid. But to me, this is not what we call a Village.

Later, it was really difficult to convince the lady next to me to sit calmly at her place. Well, I didn't want Intan to get a summon. 

After that, we stopped at AutoGrill for a petrol stop.

Then, we continued the journey again.

After almost an hour and 30 minutes, we reached Segovia.

Once we arrived, the rain stopped and Intan was relieved..:-). After we settled down, we saw those huge Roman Aqueduct - the city's 2000 year old Roman architecture that cuts right through the center of the town.Wow!!

This impressive construction, with its two tiers of arches, forms part of the setting of the magnificent historic city of Segovia.

After we finished admiring those Roman perfection, we continued walking and it was so refreshing to walk with this soothing weather.

Then, i saw this beautiful background of the city. Truthfully, this view is something inside my mind when i think of Europe. At last, i have captured this astounding view with my dear honey. It was so romantic. 

I continued to admire Segovia, while walking to the nearby cafe. This place was really calm and i liked it very much. Maybe because most of the Spaniards were busy voting so it was an advantage for us to be walking here peacefully at about 11am in the morning. However, it was really cold for the kids, so we have to use the stroller covers just to make them comfortably sleeping inside the strollers.

Later, i have to let hubby stopped at Casa de los Picos - the diamond-shaped studs on its facade and was the private residence of a Segovian noble in the 15th-century. I liked the medieval door.

After that, we took a picture at the columns of the San Martin Church.

And, we proceeded to admire the pedestrian streets.

At last, after a very slow walk admiring the places, we saw the Segovia Cathedral.

Next, time for coffee.

After we have rejuvenated our body with some hot coffee, we carried on to the Alcazar.

Once we reached the castle, i was mesmerised with the surrounding beauty. It's just like what i have seen in the movies. This Alcazar was built sometime around the 11th Century.

Before we went back to the car, a compulsory picture, in front of the castle. Again, i made the decision not to explore the castle because it would cost us more time just to be here in Segovia.
