On 2 February 2012, we went to Sabah for a 'Cuti-cuti Malaysia'. We made the decision to go there after hubby realised that he has some enrich points that would be expired by end of 2011.
We reached at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport at about 3pm. Hayra was so excited to have her own seat and food.
While Emyr was so comfortable inside his bassinet.
The last time i travelled with Malaysian Airline System was in 2007 and after that my flying experience was with AirAsia and Emirates. What can I say is about my latest experience with MAS is that even though MAS was not in the top 10 ranking of the Skytrax Award last year, the treatment that we got from the cabin crew was much more better than Emirates who always got the top 5 ranking. (..btw, the bassinet was way way more comfy than Emirates).
Once we were at the arrival hall, En.Man was already there to hand over the car key to hubby. We decided to rent a car so that it would be easier for us to move around at our own pace of time.
Now, we started our road trip to Kundasang - the closest village to Mount Kinabalu and has a panoramic view of the Mountain.
I thought of using Papago after hubby started the engine, but after a while..it was such a failure attempt and i changed my mind by using the google map navigation (..lagi senang..). On our way to Kundasang, the in-front vision was really poor.
At about 6pm, i saw it...i saw that beautiful Mount Kinabalu in front of my own eyes. Subhanallah. It is an amazing fact that the mountain is one of the youngest non-volcanic mountains in the
world. It was formed within the last 10 to 35 million years. Mount Kinabalu is also the 20th most prominent mountain in the world.
We reached the Kinabalu Pine Resort at 6.25pm. We experienced such a clear-crystal view of Mount Kinabalu and we took that opportunity to snap some pictures because i've been told that it is not all the time that you can get a better and clear view of that mountain.
At 7pm, we got our room key. As for the room, i might have a little bit of high expectation of this famous resort. For me, the view was a 5-star class but the same thing couldn't be said for the room.
The next day, at 6.30am, when i opened the door..i saw another clear view of the famous mountain. It was really chill outside the room early in the morning. The rocky mountain was really a pleasing-in-the-eyes for you to see.
Then, some refreshing therapy.
At 9.15am, we walked to the hotel cafe to have our breakfast. Now, the mountain was already surrounded by clouds.
After we ate our breakfast, we took some more pictures..even though the mountain has been covered totally.(..tengok la betapa struggling nyer nak tangkap gambo berempat..the only family picture kita org kat sabah ni).
Then, we're off to Kinabalu Park. The Park is Malaysia's first World Heritage Site
designated by UNESCO, for its "outstanding universal values" and the role as one of the most
important biological sites in the world with more than 4,500 species of
flora and fauna, including 326 bird and around 100 mammal species.
It was another refreshing place.
After a 10-minutes drive, we reached at the Timpohon View. I managed to see the Mount Kinabalu waterfall from afar. Just a few minutes later, that place was covered with the swirling clouds.
Next, hubby drove till the end of the place and we're at the Timpohon Gate. From here, all the climbers will start their journey to the top of the mountain.
Then, it was already 12.10pm and it was friday. So, after hubby dropped us at the resort, my father-in-law and hubby went to the nearer mosque to perform the friday prayer.

Just after our canopy walk adventure, all of us were really tired and we went off to sleep. However, at about 10pm, hubby asked for the camera and he managed to capture a blurrish view of Mount Kinabalu at night. It was indeed so profound to capture this precious view.
The next day (4 February 2012), we planned to start our journey back to Kota Kinabalu as early as 8.30am.
But, not before some last Kodak moment with the beautiful mountain as the background.
On our journey to Kota Kinabalu, Kundasang was fully blanketed by the fog and cloud.
Yet, we stopped by at this place to have a bye-bye moment with the panoramic mountain. At this pit-stop, you could get a better close-up of the astounding mountain.
Farewell Kundasang..till we meet again.
