Swiss Day 4 : Zermatt

18 August 2015

Another new fresh start, here in Zermatt.

For our next adventure of the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise, we have to walk slowly surpassing the Bahnofstrasse area until the Mattherhorn cable car ticket centre.

Once we reached the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise ticket centre, I was in awe. The view was so amazing.

While waiting for the ticket, the rest family members were relaxing comfortably. Well, look at the Dads..

...and my brother as well.

Then, that 'annoying' travel agent came again to give her instruction....(me la...sape lagi...hehe).

Then, off we went to the top of the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise.

While being inside the comfortable cable car, I was thinking and wondering. It was such an amazing fact that we could reach to the highest peak of the mountain area from the lower valley down there. Subhanallah.

Hayra and Emyr enjoyed the cable car ride so much.

We stopped for a while at Trockener Steg station because we have to take turn to go up to the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise as Affan's age didn't allow him to reach there.

So, my parents and my brothers went up first while the rest of us would be waiting here inside the beautiful restaurant at this station.

At the Trockener Steg station, it was indeed a beautiful place to rest as they have such a nice restaurant for you to mingle around for a while.

The outside view of the restaurant was just superb.

There was a story here. Everybody knows about the famous Toblerone chocolate, right? Here, me and Eejal waited like crazy, for a clear sky so that we could capture the peak of the Mount Matterhorn,  the Toblerone logo picture. And yet, it was really foggy up there due to the weather condition.

Enough of that waiting-for-the-peak story.

Now, how about the first group who went up to the Glacier Paradise.

Of course they enjoyed it despite the tired factor. They made their first stop at the Panorama Platform.

Then, they continued with a quick stop at the ski area.

After an hour, they came back to Trockener Steg station and it was our turn to taste the experience with the highest cable car in Europe.

Look at us. All of us were wearing this winter attire while in the middle of Switzerland's summer season. Interesting!!

Once we reached there, without knowing that the first group went to the Panorama area first, I suggested Eejal to go straight to the ski area. Emyr tried to enjoy it but as I mentioned earlier, he was not feeling well.

As for Hayra, she enjoyed it very much. She was so brave enough to taste this new adventure on her own. She ran and ran and ran here and there. Sometimes, I tend to forget that she is just my 5 years old girl.

She even tried the exhilarating snow tubing first.

Then, it was my turn to enjoy this activity. It was indeed a totally and purely fun thing for you to try.

And my mom-in-law also was so cool enough to try this experience.

Next, it was Eejal's turn.

After that, I noticed that Emyr couldn't take it anymore so I went straight to the nearby restaurant. As for Hayra, she requested to play the snow tubing for a few times until she was really tired.

Later, before heading back to the cable car area, we decided to make a quick stop at the Panorama Platform. The sign of tiredness and short of oxygen were becoming more apparent now for all of us as we reached at this level with the height of 3,883 meter.

Here at this scenic-view area, you could see the breathtaking views of the highest mountains in Italy, France and Switzerland. Amazing!!!

After that superb adventure, we were already back at the Trockener Steg station.

And, at last, we managed to see the shy peak of that famous Matterhorn.

Trigonometry at its finest, topographic perfection, the Matterhorn is seriously hypnotic.

At the end of the day, we were back to reality, back to Luzern.

Goodbye Zermatt...you were simply awesome.
